A walk through Elmwood at Memphis, Tennessee

Elmwood Cemetery is the oldest cemetery at Memphis. More than 75,000 people are buried there. Mostly prominent and notable citizens but also madams, musicians, civil rights leaders and even outlaws of Memphis including many Confederate soldiers. The goal seemed to be who could build the most impressive monument. I’ll now let the images speak for themselves. Please comment if you have additional knowledge that may pertain to any of the images posted. Thanks! –jmorlife63
