    Cold Cupola

The rising sun transfers a greenish hue from the cupola atop the James Kirkpatrick Library down to the cold fresh snow below.

    Zip Code Leftovers from jmorlife63

Yesterday our photojournalism class at UCM viewed photos from our “Zip Code” project. A couple guys in my group ended up shooting some of the same areas of 64093 as I did. We were only allowed to submit 3 images each. I didn’t know what to post today so these are some of my leftovers. We begin with one of the nicer quality statues and art found on the campus of UCM. There are many artsy representations on our campus but most of them suck really bad. Makes me glad that I’m not an art student here. This one…well…just check out the pics below. I have included a few descriptions to help you along.

I really liked the texture, bronze color, and detail in the hands of this statue. Or maybe I’m just weird.

I didn’t have any trouble taking photographs of this structure in Warrensburg. Perhaps it’s not hallowed ground, then again, I WAS on the sidewalk!

A couple shots and another representation of “Old Drum” and the originating term of “man’s best friend” which stems from the unique story of this dog.

Nothing really special about this image other than it’s simple. Sometimes simple is good for composition. I have always enjoyed taking photos of architecture. I should have been an architectural photographer. (see: Kansas City: A Look at Lines, Light, and Shadows on this blog)
