The early morning sun casts long shadows on the President’s lawn at UCM. Temperatures hover near zero degrees on February 5, 2014, at Warrensburg, Missouri.
This family portrait was shot around sunset at Lincoln, Missouri. The family is Cody & Misty along with their four month newborn child with a really kewl name, Blaze. The young couple have known each other for ten years and have been together for the last three years. These young people are hard workers and are currently seeking a house to purchase around Warsaw, Missouri. Many thanks to Cody, Misty, and precious little Blaze for allowing me to photograph them for my Portrait Photography class at UCM. Nikon D3100 with a standard 55mm lens.
I don’t mind telling you that Michelle was a bit apprehensive about posing along the railroad tracks in W-Burg. Reports of people being fined in W-Burg for doing this are common. However, I think Michelle has a bit of rebel in her and she agreed to sit for me with the old chair I had brought (as a prop) to the shoot. I really like this image of Michelle as I believe it captures her essence. This is also a “straight image.” Good photographers don’t need no [sic] photoshop! I’m glad she’s a good sport. 😉
Today in Warrensburg the weather finally gave our portrait class a break. It was a mild and sunny day. These images are “straight” and have not been edited or photo-shopped. There was some assistants on hand utilizing a couple reflectors while those who had their cameras enjoyed a wonderful photo shoot. Thanks to our models and Mr. Breshears, our instructor, for selecting the locations near the Freedom Tower on the campus at UCM.
