    Family Portrait

This family portrait was shot around sunset at Lincoln, Missouri. The family is Cody & Misty along with their four month newborn child with a really kewl name, Blaze. The young couple have known each other for ten years and have been together for the last three years. These young people are hard workers and are currently seeking a house to purchase around Warsaw, Missouri. Many thanks to Cody, Misty, and precious little Blaze for allowing me to photograph them for my Portrait Photography class at UCM. Nikon D3100 with a standard 55mm lens.

    The Tracks

I don’t mind telling you that Michelle was a bit apprehensive about posing along the railroad tracks in W-Burg. Reports of people being fined in W-Burg for doing this are common. However, I think Michelle has a bit of rebel in her and she agreed to sit for me with the old chair I had brought (as a prop) to the shoot. I really like this image of Michelle as I believe it captures her essence. This is also a “straight image.” Good photographers don’t need no [sic] photoshop! I’m glad she’s a good sport. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today in Warrensburg the weather finally gave our portrait class a break. It was a mild and sunny day. These images are “straight” and have not been edited or photo-shopped. There was some assistants on hand utilizing a couple reflectors while those who had their cameras enjoyed a wonderful photo shoot. Thanks to our models and Mr. Breshears, our instructor, for selecting the locations near the Freedom Tower on the campus at UCM.

    One Final Left!!! Yeee Hawww

Well, It’s 1:50 AM and like usual I just finished my photo-slide-show-audio bla bla project. I always get it finished but sometimes finals week can take their toll an an old body. Sometimes by the end of a semester I feel as though my brain is going to explode like Mount Vesuvius! As a senior this year I also tend to get senioritis. Oh well, hopefully it will all be worth it after I graduate. I figure 3-4 more semesters should do it for my BS degree so I can BS my way into some more moola! One more final next Friday. Thinking about heading back down to Memphis over the break so should get some more awesome images posted before 2012 ends, or the world ends on Dec. 21st, whichever comes first. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh, yeah! I’m turd. Goin’ to see the sandman now. Should be posting that show soon. Stay tuned!

    School, Finals, Projects..bla

It is finals week at UCM. :-O My photo-story project is due tomorrow. jmorlife63 is hoping to post the final-cut right here! I did a few of these in junior college. They are indeed a lot of fun but take time to edit properly and find just the right audio you need. I generally do mine on my Macbook Pro and “imovie.” There of course is better software, such as final cut pro. ย One more week after this week and I’m freeeeee!!! My last final test is December 14th so I hope to be posting more images as well. Merry Christmas! See ya soon!

Anybody with any tips/suggestions for making better slide shows with audio PLEASE comment here.
